What Can You Recycle?

Some materials are too complex, volatile, hazardous, or delicate for processing with other recyclable materials. Other items cannot be accepted because they cannot be processed with our equipment.

Below is a list of the materials we process at our facility. 



 


Recyclable Materials

  • Electronic waste (Computers, TVs, etc.)
  • Propane tanks
  • Batteries of any kind
  • Hazardous materials
  • Liquid waste: oil, antifreeze, wet paint, gasoline, freon
  • Chemical containers: Pump top or spray bottles, pesticide or herbicide bottles
  • Plastic cooking oil bottles
  • Polystyrene(cups or plates)
  • Plastic shopping bags or garbage bags
  • Aluminum siding
  • Toys
  • Lawn furniture
  • Foil trays
  • Paint cans
  • Window glass
  • Light bulbs
  • Crystal

Hard-To-Recycle Materials Collection

The following are examples of materials that cannot be processed at TC Recycling, but are collected by other organizations. Click here for a list of Hard to Recycle Collection Events.

  • Cell/home phones
  • CFL bulbs
  • Computer towers and peripheral equipment (keyboards, laptops, mice, UPS/servers, Zip drives, etc.)
  • Expanded polystyrene packaging material
  • Microwave ovens
  • Stereo equipment and video game consoles/DVD players
  • Televisions
  • Computer monitors
  • Printers
  • Alkaline batteries
  • CDs/DVDs/floppy discs
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Small Freon appliances
  • Stereo speakers
  • Tires (with and without rims)
  • VHS tapes.

Counties in Western PA and Eastern Ohio host yearly events for the collection of hard-to-dispose-of items. Many of the above items can be disposed of at little to no cost. Dates for collection events are posted on Seneca Landfill's website as they become available.
